What are Tacky and Fast Dry Sublimation Paper for Flatted Heat Press Machine and Rotary Drum Machines?

Sublimation Transfer paper is the best transfer paper which can be used in various printing method to transfer the image from the transfer paper to various objects such as fabric, wood, ceramic cups, tiles, ect.

If you want to the image from sublimation paper then you must require a heat press machine which helps you to the image on the object permanently.

You cannot use your home iron for transferring this image because this press are not that much hot as a heat press and does not give you sufficient amount of pressure and heat. The quality of heat press machine is far greater than the ordinary iron machines that we used at our homes and deliver us perfect ration of heat and pressure which emphasis the quality of the image on the object.

There are two types of press that has been used for tacky or fast dry sublimation paper such as Platen presses which has flat surface and has been used for the printing of individual pieces or have a good impact of printing on the hard
surface such as wood, tile etc. The other type of printing press is rotary drum machines in which fabric continuously gets print or on roll to roll basis. This machine has been used for the printing of big banners, signs and large designs.

Heat Transfer Machine for Sublimation Transfer Paper

How to know sublimation printing?

Sublimation of an element or compound is a transition from the solid to gas phase with no intermediate liquid stage. Sublimation is an endothermic phase transition that occurs at temperatures and pressures below the triple point.  At normal pressures, most chemical compounds and elements possess three different states at different temperatures. In these cases the transition from the solid to the gaseous state requires an intermediate liquid state. However, for some elements or substances at some pressures the material may pass directly from a solid into the gaseous state. This can occur if the atmospheric pressure exerted on the substance is too low to stop the molecules from escaping from the solid state."
Sublimation printing is a process where photo quality image, graphic or text is transferred to a various materials such as garments, metal, acrylic and others using heat transfer. There is a specialized sublimation ink that is heated and transfers the photo quality into the material. When gas comes into the contact of polymer fiber, it passes through the turn dye the material. Sublimation process works efficiently for printing almost all types of materials.

Sublimation inks are designed to work with certain sublimation printers including the Roland Hi-Fi Express FP-740 and the Roland Hi-Fi Jet Pro II FJ-540. The design to be sublimated will be printed in mirror on special sublimation paper such as Beaver TexPrint XP sublimation paper and Beaver TexPrint Tacky sublimation paper. Once the transfer is printed to the sublimation paper the transfer is placed face down on the item being sublimated. A heat press like the Hotronix Auto Open Clam heat press or Geo Knight Maxi Press will be used to achieve the high temperatures needed as well as even firm pressure which will vaporize the sublimation ink, releasing it from the sublimation paper and dyeing the item. Once transferred and after the item cools it is complete and ready to be used. There is no special drying or coating required.

You have to use a decent quality heat press. An iron can't reach 400 degrees and it won't be able to provide even and heavy pressure. A good heat press for sublimation is the George Knight DK20S heat press. It is a heavy duty heat press for a reasonable price that has the ability to press thicker blanks if you ever want to get into decorating plaques. Be aware that cheap heat presses from abroad don't provide even, accurate heat and most are likely to fall apart in the first year of use.

Introduction about dye-sublimation printing

Dye-sublimation printers allow you to print photo-lab-quality pictures at home. As the price of these printers go down, more and more digital-camera owners are choosing to take advantage of this technology. In dye-sublimation printing, colors are not laid down as individual dots, as is done in inkjet printers. Individual dots can be distinguished at a relatively close distance, making digital pictures look less realistic.

If you looked inside a dye-sublimation printer, you would see a long roll of transparent film that resembles sheets of red, blue, yellow, and gray colored cellophane stuck together end to end. Embedded in this film are solid dyes corresponding to the four basic colors used in printing: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. The print head heats up as it passes over the film, causing the dyes to vaporize and permeate the glossy surface of the paper before they return to solid form.
Nanjing Fei Yue Paper Industrial Co., LTD is specialized in manufacturing different kinds of thermal transfer paper. It covers 15000 square meters, and the area of building covers 10000 square meters. The fixed assets have reached forty million Yuan.

The dye-sublimation printing process is used to print on polyester or other synthetic fabrics. It is used for applications such as T-shirts, banners, table covers, id cards, sportswear and flags. The original printers were an electrostatic technology using toners but now are generally large format inkjet printers using specially formulated inks. The dye sublimation inks are a pigment suspended in a liquid solvent, like water. The images are initially printed on coated heat-resistant transfer paper as a reverse image of the final design, which is then transferred onto polyester fabric in a heat press operating at a temperature around 180 to 210 C (375 F). Under high temperature and pressure, the dye turns into a gas and permeates the fabric and then solidifies into its fibers. The fabric is permanently dyed so it can be washed without damaging the quality of the image.
Advantages of dye-sublimation over other methods of textile printing:
Images are permanent and do not peel or fade.
1.Dye does not build up on the fabric.
2.Colors can be extraordinarily brilliant due to the bonding of the dye to the transparent fibers of the synthetic fabric.
3.Truly continuous tones can be achieved that are equivalent to photographs, without the use special techniques such as half-screen printing.

The image can be printed all over the entire item, with no difficulty in printing all the way to the edges.

So the main difference between this and other types of printing has to do with heat. The vaporized colors permeate the surface of the paper, creating a gentle gradation at the edges of each pixel, instead of the conspicuous border between dye and paper produced by inkjets. And because the color infuses the paper, it is also less vulnerable to fading and distortion over time.

Different characters between Inkjet printers and dye sublimation

During sublimation printing field, we all know inject printer and dye sublimation. If you print your own photos and other graphical materials for your business, you may choose an inkjet printer or a dye sublimation model, depending on your particular requirements. A dye sublimation printer specializes in graphics, whereas the more common inkjet can be used to also print correspondence, spreadsheets and other standard text documents. Although the image quality of the best inkjets rival that of dye sublimation printers, the latter produces more natural-looking shades and color mixes. But do you know why we do like this?

An inkjet prints by spraying microscopic droplets of liquid ink from the nozzles in the cartridge. As a mechanism moves the cartridge back and forth across the page, the droplets hit the paper, dry and form tiny dots of black, cyan, magenta and yellow color. The printer produces a wide array of colors by precisely controlling where the dots land. A dye sublimation printer works by heating a special ribbon containing solid inks. The ink sublimates, or become a gas without liquefying first. The process lays down varying amounts of three primary colors plus a clear coating onto the paper. The gas solidifies on the page, resulting in full-color images. The clear coat protects the ink from smudging.

Dye sublimation printers produce images with a continuous range of colors, as a traditional chemical photograph does. The inkjet printer uses primary color dots in similar fashion to a computer monitor; if you magnify the image, you can see the primary colors, whereas the colors physically blend with dye sublimation. However, the best examples of each technology both output good-looking results, and choice comes down to personal preference and factors other than image quality.
But An inkjet printer uses only as much ink as needed to produce an image or a printed page; ink remaining from one print batch will be used on subsequent ones. The dye sublimation process is less efficient in terms of ink: the printer transfers only a portion of each of the ribbon's three primary color panels to the page. Some ink inevitably remains on the panel and cannot be reused.

In a word, high quality dye sublimation ink can make pretty image, so we all want to choose this kind of sublimation ink.
