How to identify Epson DX-5 print head locked or not?

The Epson DX5 printhead is incredibly popular, and anyone who run a UV printer will have used them at least once. If you have a DX5 printhead, when you want to replace it, you need to focus on whether the printhead is encrypted or not!
Locking the Printhead
Epson want to protect its printhead technology, so you can't buy Epson DX5 printheads directly from the manufacturer. Those who use Epson printhead on the market mainly collect from distributors or remove from printers to be sold separately. To prevent it being used in other printers, Epson add an encrypted code into the memory board of DX5 printhead.
Locked printheads lead to print errors of failing to print at all, and this situation cause effectively unusable printheads being sold on the second-hand market.

Unlocking the Printhead
Several months later, an enterprising engineer developed a memory card that removed the code and unlocked the printhead, creating it usable once more, then the term "unlocked" appeared. These heads are called "first time locked" heads.
However, Epson responded again, and with new DX5 head began building in a new lock, and this one has not been overcome, called "second time locked". That’s the reason that there are both encrypted and unencrypted DX5 printheads on the market.
Knowing which is the right Printhead
It's necessary to identify locked or unlocked DX5 printhead, as purchasing a locked printhead can be an expensive mistake. The simple way is through the connector layout for the print head.
Locked DX5 printhead: contacts at each edge as above figure shown.
Unlocked DX5: some contacts are at the center; other contacts are at the edge, which makes unlocked printhead easy to recognize.
