Cotton, silk, nylon, polyester, and beyond; not every fabric type is created equal. Each material requires a certain kind of ink chemistry, which is why your fabric printing machine needs to be made specifically for your application.
We break down your options below and compare the top brands and models in fabric printing to help you make a decision.
What Type of Fabric Printing Machine Do You Need?
The two fabric printing machines we always meet are dye sublimation and direct-to-fabric. Ultimately, your printing application will determine which fabric printing machine you need.
As we all know, For polyester materials, you'll need a dye-sublimation printer. When it comes to cotton, silk, nylon, and all other (non-polyester) fibers, the dye sublimation paper transfer process won't work. But that doesn't mean that you can't print on these fibers! The process will just require different ink chemistry so you can print directly onto fabrics and not have to transfer from paper. Polyester applications that require deep ink penetration — like printing on flags can also benefit more from a direct print process.
Take a look at two of the top direct-to-fabric printing machines on the market today.
Mimaki's stand at ITMA 2019 demonstrated a broad array of textile printing technology
The Mimaki TX300P is the perfect choice for entry-level and mid-level production, especially on woven goods. This fabric printer is simple to use and maintain and has the technical sophistication to help self-monitor its performance. I always recommend this model printer to our clients, one is its Mimaki brand, quality is excellent absolutely, another reason is its multi-functional, it can print on various textiles with  different ink, SB420 for polyester-based fabric, TP400 ink for pure cotton fabric, acid RC300 ink for mix etc other kind fabric, OMG, it's fabulous.

Mutoh's 1938TX model offers great entry-level and mid-level production fabric printing with flexible ink choice options. Like the standard Mimaki TX300P-1800, it's best suited for printing on woven fabrics.
These two models direct textile printers are very perfect for the fashion textile industry, the only point is its price a little bit high, but I believe if you pursue high-quality printing results,  they are deserved to invest.
