Dispersed Skyimage sublimation ink color fastness on polyester

SKYIMAGE® sublimation ink is non-toxic, environmentally friendly, bright colors, wide gamut and has good transfer rate. Suitable for the plotters equipped with Epson DX4,DX5 and DX7 print head. Excellent fluency, no clogging no oblique spray, ink particles are evenly distributed and less than 0.3um.

The right combination of fabric and dye is the first step on the road to a beautiful and durable print. We are specialized in dispersed sublimation ink supplying for printing on polyester and polyester blends, and we always recommend using the transfer technique for these fabrics.
Sublimation heat transfer printing is a two-step printing technique, which involves a dye sublimation process. We work with disperse dye inks which are the only colorant with the ability to sublime.

Sublimation printing is a technique that uses heat sensitive inks. These inks turn into gas under the influence of heat and combine with a 100% polyester medium. Since the ink becomes part of the structure of the material, the images on the fabric don’t fade or crack - even after multiple washing.

When removing the polyester fibers from heat after the sublimation, the molecules of the polyester fibers will settle again and absorb the ink completely. This fusion between the fabric fibers and ink makes this technique incredibly reliable. The color is absorbed in the fabric instead of sitting on the surface of the fabric like other textile printing techniques.

The color fastness is intact and there is no need for further finishing or washing of your fabric subsequent to the sublimation process. Some specially treated textiles, i.e. Trevira CS, however, will become stiff in the calendar and do need washing to obtain their original feel.
